VACANCY FOR A PERMANENT MUSIC CO-ORDINATOR

Ratcliffe School and Oaklands Park School form the Dawlish Federation of Special Schools. From September 2018 our two schools will merge to form one weekly residential special school, Orchard Manor School. The two schools on adjoining sites are set in the coastal town of Dawlish in the very beautiful South Devon. Our newly merged weekly residential special school will provide an all-through provision for children and young people aged 3 - 19 years with a continuum of needs including autistic spectrum conditions, communication and interation difficulties, learning difficulties and social development needs.

 

Our standards in both education and care are very high and we offer a structured and supportive environment to all our students and staff.

 

We are seeking to appoint an excellent classroom practitioner for September 2018 or before. The successful applicant will be highly ambitious for students whatever their needs or ability. You will be required to teach Music across across the age range up to and including including GCSE. The ideal candidate should be able to offer a range of musical skills including the use of music software. There may be the opportunity to offer extra curricular sessions such as clubs and choirs. The ability of offer some Drama sessions would be advantageous.

Fixed Term Contract for 12 months (Grade C) to work in the classroom, providing general support under the direction of the teacher. 30.85 hours x 39 weeks per annum

 

(this includes 5 x .5 hours lunchtime supervision of pupils)

Salary: Grade C Scale Points 12 – 17 £16,123 - £17,772 pro rata

 

 

1 Permanent Science Lab Technician/Learning Support Assistant

(Split Role - Grade C and Grade D)

 

required to work in the Science Lab supporting the Science Co-ordinator for 2 days a week and working with the children for 3 days a week. 30.85 hours x 39 weeks per annum

 

(this includes 5 x .5 hours lunchtime supervision of pupils)

Salary: Grade C Scale Points 12 – 17 £16,123 - £17,772 pro rata

Salary: Grade D Scale Point 18 - 22 £18,070 - £20,066 pro rata

 

 

4 Part Time Mealtime Assistants

 

(1 year fixed term contracts) to provide supervision in the playground of pupils during lunch breaks. 5 hours per week x 38 weeks per annum

Salary: Grade B Scale Points 7 – 11 £15,246 - £15,807 pro rata

 

These roles are temporary due to a temporary increase in workload. Experience of working with children who have Autism or complex needs would be an advantage. A full induction programme will be available.

Ratcliffe  School is a part day/residential school that caters for 105 students aged 5 to 16 years with a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorder and associated communication and interaction needs.

Oaklands Park School is a part day/residential school that caters for 60 students aged 3 to 19 years with a Severe Learning Difficulties, Interaction and Communication needs and Autism.
